Phi: the golden mean ratio is a sacred secret that is really unknown even by the people who challenge that they understand it completely. This is the main reason why Lord Vishnu hold conch it and elders made it as a ornament for married women.

Traditionally it needs to ensure that the shakha don’t break during the first year of marriage as that indicates extremely bad for the bride. Shakha Pola isn’t mere a decore beauty item used by Bengali married ladies but it is a pride to carry Great spiritual and divine energy of mother nature.

 Pola-

Myth that demines and disrespect the Age old Vedic culture that still alive in Bengoli tradition are as follows –

1.       Poor fisher men made these ornaments for their wife's because they cant purchase something good for them. Its myth is to show that we follow poor Fisher man culture not the culture of learned wise saints and elder man.

2.       Elephant tusk was prevalent not the conch shell. Second myth is that we kill animals mindlessly for ornamentation. This practice is prevalent more in west rather than in Vedic culture. Conch shell is auspicious that’s why all Our Gods and Goddesses hold in heir hand and in every auspicious occasion we blow conch because it removes negative and evil negativity.

3.        Loha should be coated with Gold. Third myth loha (iron bangle) should be coated with gold to show that we are rich and wealthy . if you cover the loha with gold its properties are lost. Iron and gold have completely different quality – iron demolish and destroy negative energy where as gold attract negative energy ( as per Shrimad Bhagwadmaha puran- where Lord Parikshit allow Kali to reside in gold, to propagate his negativity in people)

I think the fact of Shakha, Pola, Loha and Sindoor must have made you Proud on the rich Vedic culture heritage of Bengal.
Pola the red bangle between iron metal bangle and Shakha provides firmity and harmony to the new relation and help to balance energy, thus it is very auspicious jewel.
